Rose Tattoo – Rock ‘n’ Roll Outlaw (1978)
Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1978: Rose Tattoo’s promo-video for the hit single ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Outlaw’ taken from the 1978 album ‘Rose Tattoo’. This song was originally written and performed by both Angry Anderson and Billy Miller during their days in Buster Brown. After Buster Brown split in 1975, Billy moved on the form Ferrets (‘Don’t Fall In Love’ fame), whilst Angry moved on to form Rose Tattoo. He took this song with him. Sorry Angry – but one must give credit to where credit is due. en.wikipedia.org rose_tattoo ———————————– NZOZ NZOZ1978 1978 Australia Late Seventies 1970’s 1970s 70’s 70s Extended Tags: Angry Anderson, Pete Wells Musical Terms: Hard, Rock, Blues, Aussie, Old Australian Band
Umm..just maybe ..and im saying maybe.. Airbourne were influenced by AcDc & The Tatts ??
@fiolvb, I disagree, Airbourne are just rock n roll man, it’s good music, plus what the hell does that have to do with rose tattoo?
He looks like the vocalist from Accept
I wouldn’t say clone because that implies they are trying rip then off. I make the assumption that each member of Airbourne only ever owned one album and it just happened to be a different Bon Scoot Album in each members house
good to see a new Aussie band with energy it’s been a long f^%$ing time
airbourne are a clone of AC/DC and the singer is a bollock!
Yes AC/DC have sold more albums than Rose Tattoo and i suppose rightly so, but Rose Tattoo really deserve alot of recognition. Their first 3 albums are almost up there with AC/DC`s best albums. Also, check out another new Aussie rock band called Airbourne. If you like AC/DC and Rose Tattoo then you`ll love Airbourne too.
rock and roll midget. pretty cool band
@nzoz1978 MARAVILHOSOOOOOOOOOOOO
No worries Dave… keep an eye on this channel and some of the earlier (70 to 74) channels, as I’ll be bringing up more of that classic ’sunbury era’ rock.
Judgment suggests ownership which suggests one will never appreciate rock and roll for what it is. Whack on.
nzoz1978 thanks man, another awesome post of the MIGHTY TATTS, wont get into the ac/dc v tatts argument, bit pointless considering history played out the way it played out, suffice to say both great bands with their own triumphs and tragedies.
Anyhow bro, you keep posting the Oz rock and I for one will keep checking in,keep it coming bud, Aztecs,Coloured Balls, Lobby, whatever, as Seasick Steve would say……….
“Its all good”
Peace
Dave
@fortheloveoftunes there isn’t really a comparison. angry was no bon scott and mick cocks with all respect, was not the guitarist angus young is
thanks gdrahcir. I’ll try my best!
All respect to this band but AC/DC are way more tight therefore more succesfull I guess .-)
RIP Mick Cocks Great mate died too soon.
ha, I forgot that Phil Rudd was drumming in Buster Brown before he joined AC/DC.
Awesome band, timeless
this band is an inspiration for airborne
Hey nzoz1978. I just brought the double set of Rose Tattoo. Fucking love this band. I’m aussie myself and also a massive Thorpie and Loydd fan. From what the booklet tells me it seems that the Tatts didn’t really hit the bit time until they went to the UK and played for all the punk rockers over there. But i agree that they definatly have been around the pub seen since the early 70’s. Keep up the comments. Cheers.
I got a feeling that Just after buster brown Phill Rudd from AC/DC was drumming for Angry Anderson.
Trop cool
Rose Tattoo actually formed in 1976 – from the ashes of Buster Brown (who I believe formed a little before AC/DC, but am not sure) and Buffalo. Both bands were part of the Aussie pub rock scene, which included Billy Thorpe and Lobby Loydd. AC/DC had a place there too, but not before those that I’ve mentioned.
Most of those acts are on my nzoz1972 and nzoz1973 channels.
Ya I just looked it up cause Ac/Dc formed in 73 and Rose Tattoo is 75.
that’s quite not logical, as AC/DC was found earlier than rose tattoo
nzoz1978. Thanx buddy, I put it back up just for you. I removed it due to some spelling mistakes.
